Welcome!

My name is Ron.  I’m “Kayak Fishing Addict” on YouTube!  I was bit by the kayak fishing bug and I’ve been addicted ever since.  There’s nothing like getting out on the water, tossing in a line, and feeling that tug on the other end.  From that moment on it’s, “fish on, fish on!”

  • Great videos Ron. I enjoy the positive attitude and solid content. I sold my Solo Skiff and purchased a Hobie 360 within this month. Let's get together and fish after these holidays. I fish primarily Palm Valley and northeast Jax. Normgm@yahoo.com. Tight lines dude! -Matthew

  • Hi. I’ve enjoyed everyone of your videos I’ve watched. I really like your style and your vids are very engaging. I’m new to Naples Florida from St. Louis mo. I have a long history smallmouth bass stream fishing in Missouri from either a sit on top kayak or solo canoe. Also consider myself a minimalist using only a small repertoire of Lures. Recently I fell into great buy on a hobie compass and that’s how I found your videos. So now transitioning to salt water, I was hoping you could answer a few questions. First of all I’ve always had an affinity for baitcasters, but have not bought a salt water bait cast reel yet. Are you happy with your Lews? I like your gear choices but had an additional question. What is your terminal tackle? Are you using flour leader on braid what # lb and weight leader? Also, are you using a snap or swivel? I see one in the gear link but not the size. Finally, I like the compass for stability and I’m relatively short, so I can stand but I notice you never do, and seemingly make your cast almost sideways. I also do that to avoid backlash. Does your long reel handle help you with that? Lots of questions here. Thanks for your patience and keep up the good work. Ha. Not finally I guess, but you have a natural way in front of the camera. What’s your background? I think some in front of camera video work before this. Regards, Mike. Ps Ever in Naples, look me up. —

  • Congrats on getting a Hobie Compass, it's a great boat. Thanks for watching my videos, I'm glad they're of interest and help to you. I do like baitcasters as they help me hit the target on my casts and I find them easier to use from a kayak. Right now I like the Lew's baitcasters I'm using but I recently had some challenges with them. They're with Lew's right now getting fixed. I'll have to do an episode about how to care for them as they take more maintenance than I've given them which is disappointing. I tend to use 20-25 lbs braid and a 15 lbs mono or flouro leader. I don't use any other terminal tackle other than a lure…no swivels. I stand from time to time but I don't unless the water is clear enough to sight cast or I just need to stretch. I have to re-aim the cameras when I'm standing too. I cast sideways at times to avoid the back camera boom…. lot's of adjustments I guess in order to film what I'm doing. I just love people and talking and I try as much as possible to pretend the cameras aren't there. Thanks for the comments and for watching. Tight lines!

  • Hi!!!! Just wanted to reach out and tell you how much we appreciate your videos and info! My husband and I are freshwater fishermen on our hobies but we really wanted to start learning inshore saltwater fishing so we’ve watched every one of your videos and bought all the lures/top water lures you’ve recommended 😁 and so today we’re headed over to the ormond beach area from tampa for our inaugural saltwater launch! We’ll be there till Saturday and try out some of your fishing spots! We appreciate you putting the locations of where you fish on your website too! You’ve made everything so easy to navigate! Happy fishing!!! Hope to catch some big ones!
