I fished Bing’s Landing, in Palm Coast, FL at 4pm this evening and decided to throw a Z-Man Sexy Penny Diezel MinnowZ color pattern. Essentially, it’s a combination of New Penny on the top, and Chartreuse on the bottom. I’m not quite sure what fish think it is when they see it, but whatever they’re thinking, it works! In fact, it works a little too good as I caught a species I never catch!
Natural Colors
If you’ve been following my blog and YouTube channel, you know that I’m a big advocate of natural looking bait colors. After all, if the fish we seek can see the natural bait that they eat day in and day out, then we’ve got one less variable to consider if we simply imitate that bait. That said, there’s always room in my box for chartreuse. Typically, I fish chartreuse tails on my baits. I think they add some flash, but not so much flash that the predators don’t dismiss it as “not natural”. Well this bait goes beyond what I would naturally throw. But, I figure, you’ve got to try something a little out of the norm every once in a while.
As you might know I’m evaluating Z-Man Paddle Tails with the idea that they will replace my current confidence bait, DOA Figi Chix Paddle Tail. To do so, I do need at least a few bait colors. Right now, this one is staying in the box! Wan’t to know why? Enjoy the video!
Hobie Eyewear – Cabo
As you know from the video, this year I’m going to essentially wear a different pair of Hobie Eyewear Fishing Sunglasses in each video. Honestly, I’ll probably repeat a few from time to time.
In this video I’m wearing the Hobie Cabo model and I’ve got to tell you…. Hobie is the exclusive provider of my eyewear this year … these sunglasses are great. My frames are satin brown wood grain and the lens color is copper green mirror. They’re very comfortable, and very high quality! I highly recommend them.
