Today I’m fishing a Z-Man Diezel MinnowZ paddle tail in Salt Strong’s Slam Shady color pattern. So will Salt Strong’s “Slam Shady” put more fish in the boat?
As you know I’m evaluating Z-Man Paddle Tails with the idea that they will replace my current confidence bait, DOA Figi Chix Paddle Tail. One element for soft plastics we have to care about is bait color. The typical theory behind bait colors is that you fish darker colors in darker water, and conversely, lighter colors in clear water. Well, the guys over at Salt Strong came up with a bait color pattern that is supposed to work in almost all situations. They call it the Slam Shady color pattern, and in a partnership with Z-Man, it’s one of the color patterns for the Z-Man Diezel MinnowZ paddle tail.
The typical theory behind bait colors is that you fish darker colors in darker water, and conversely, lighter colors in clear water.
Today I’m going to put that theory to the test by fishing the Slam Shady color pattern in dark water and see how it works out. Let’s go see what we can catch!
Hobie Eyewear – Everglades
As you know from the video, this year I’m going to essentially wear a different pair of Hobie Eyewear Fishing Sunglasses in each video. Honestly, I’ll probably repeat a few from time to time.
In this video I’m wearing the Hobie Everglades model and I’ve got to tell you…. Hobie is the exclusive provider of my eyewear this year … these sunglasses are great. My frames are shiny tortoise and the lens color is copper. They’re very comfortable, and very high quality! I highly recommend them.
