What a Snook!

I don’t often go fishing for snook, even though kayak snook fishing is a blast. It certainly was a thrill for me to catch and release this big fat snook and a sea trout this week while I was out kayak fishing!

In Florida, our slot for snook is 28”-32” and you must have a special tag on your license to keep one in the slot. Although I don’t target snook, and I always catch and release them, they’re still a lot of fun to catch. There are also dates where keeping snook are banned here in Florida – December 15th through the end of the year, and June, July, and August. So make sure if you fish these waters you also only catch and release them during those dates.
