About This Film
Boy, it’s been so cold here lately! To my friends up north, “cold” is a relative term. That said, it’s been in the 50’s here which all but stops traffic in this part of Florida! That’s why it’s taken so long to get this, my next video, out the door. This one was a lot of fun to produce, even though the weather was brisk. The drone shots were filmed at the end of November on a different trip. That beautiful yacht was approaching and I thought I should try to capture it. Little did I know that I wasn’t that far away from the mast! It’s gorgeous though isn’t it?

My Honey Do List
Today I woke up with a honey do list a mile long, but all I wanted to do was kayak fish! As the day progressed, the list got shorter and I finally got my chance. So I loaded up the kayak, the cameras, and the drone and headed for the marsh. And I gotta say, I’m sure glad I did!
It was a beautiful day! Now you might be thinking that living in Florida during the winter months is typically easy. Honestly, you’d be right! The warmer temperatures afford kayak fishermen and women in Florida the opportunity to get outside and enjoy nature when most of the country is bundled up drinking hot cocoa in front of a warm fire.
Whether taking your skiff and fishing under the bridge (High Bridge), tossing in bait fish and waiting for the monster snook to pop is your thing. Or maybe you simply enjoy seeing the drawbridge opening, and the multi-million dollar yachts approaching and passing through the narrow span. I mean, who doesn’t enjoy seeing that! It’s breathtaking. Or, of course, you may just enjoy the Redfish and Spotted Sea Trout (Speckled Trout) action that this marsh provides. Not to worry, there’s something for you in this video!
So whatever it is that fits your fancy… is that even a thing anymore… whatever curls your toes this winter… maybe not…oh well, the point is, that you can usually find it in Florida in the winter, and you can definitely see and hear it all in this video.
So come along for the ride and experience the beauty of Florida Kayak fishing in winter. Perhaps, like me, all you want to do is kayak fish! Let’s not let winter stop us! So, throw another log on the fire, lay back on the couch, wrap yourself in that blanket, and take a sip of that hot cocoa (and whatever else you put in it)! Let’s launch the kayak, throw a line in the water, and go see what we can catch!
