Today I’m sharing three ways to instantly up your kayak fishing game! Plain and simple things we can do as kayak fishermen and fisherwomen to be more adept at putting fish in the boat. These first three are culled from my experience, but there are definitely additional ways to up our kayak fishing game so please comment on at least one way you’ve discovered that will help us all get better at putting more fish in the boat!

The Backstory

I made a quick trip out to Bing’s Landing in Palm Coast, Florida to see if I could catch a fish and film a video in two hours. I’m glad I did. It was a fun trip but I have to admit, the tide table was a little off. I was supposed to hit the top of the tide to two hours after it started to drop. Unfortunately, the tidal drop was a little late. It turns out it dropped about 1:20 after I thought it would. In the winter months we’re fighting daylight and that’s what cut the trip short. Before that though, I landed a nice 18″ speckled trout which was the first fish I caught in my new boat! Not a bad catch.
